Bit of a catch up

Hey Everyone,

Hope you've all had a great week so far

Who chased off summer the weather in London this week just doesn't know what to do with itself.

So the past few weeks I've been fairly busy, was back back to work and reality but also a great weekend with a long over due girly catch up with lots of cocktails and good food. If your in London and near Carnaby St head to Dirty Bones. I can't recommend it enough for a great afternoon out.

This week I've been busy with a few family things, watching my Bro graduate yesterday was a very proud moment for me. He's worked so hard and has put so much time in to all his work and am so proud of everything he has achieved.

If you are near the Kings Cross area I had a great meal at Mildred's yesterday. The food is always amazing and these noodles went down a treat.

This weekend brings another busy few days
It's Comic Con time

My Travel Round Up

Hey Everyone,

Hope you've all had a great weekend

So I've been back in the UK a few days now but after some cracking jet lag and just being tired from the busy trip I've been sleeping quite a bit since I got back.

So I thought I'd do a little round up for you

Vegas well it was hot there is no other way of skirting round that one. The heat itself if you nip in n out of shops and the hotels was manageable but what got me was instead of the wind you got very hot air blown at you which I wasn't ready for and my eyes most certainly took it full force and I hid behind my sunglasses a lot of the time.
My advice if you want to do much is to go out before lunch as the main bulk of the heat hit from about 2pm onwards.

The strip itself is very deceiving - all the hotels are accessible to the public so if you aren't staying there you can wonder in n out of all the hotels especially to see the shops and play in the casinos. What it doesn't look like from the outside is all the hotels are pretty much the length of a shopping centre to walk through. Think Westfield and you are pretty much there.
If you have a steps fitness goal you will beat it very early in the day trust me.

Crossing roads - one thing I noticed for Vegas for crossing roads is they have a nifty escalator and bridge system running which helps you get across roads quicker and safer as well.

The shows - there are a lot of shows running in Vegas so make sure you check them out. Most are near to the strip or on the strip. We went to Magic Mike ( check out the blog here Magic Mike Live  ) at the Hard Rock Hotel and got the monorail near and walked the rest of the way. It was a good 20 minute walk but also very hot so bare that in mind incase you want to get a cab there instead.

Wifi - for keeping the phone charges down there is wifi pretty much everywhere on the strip. Hotels will have it for their guests but shops, bars and restaurants have it too which was great to know.

Refills - it was a bonus to know when you go out for food most places will do free drinks refills for you as soon as your glass gets low. With the heat it really helped.

Los Angeles

Free Wifi on the buses - this was a great find especially out on the bus routes in HollyWood. If you were lost and needed google maps for help it wasn't hard to get online.

Discount shopping - we visited some great shops while we were away and found some great discount shopping outlets which with the 4th July sales on made a great challenge for shopping in. Some of the sales were amazing and I have to say I was slightly gutted I could find any Converse in my size but there is always next time.

Disney - What can I say it was amazing (check out the blog here Disney Adventures ) I'd been looking forward for so long to visit the original park and it really was just amazing to see. Its completely a must if you visit LA

The Hollywood sign - we were lucky to see both the sign and the Griffith Observatory together. We attempted a hike towards the sign but came back half way in as it was stupidly hot.
If you've seen LaLa Land you will know how amazing the observatory looks and even though it was busy it was great to have a look round.

Sight Seeing - what can I say it was incredible to see so many places I've seen in films and TV shows. I loved seeing so much of the Walk of Fame which is a must if you venture into HollyWood for a look round.

Don't forget to check back on the blog to see some of the other things that happened on the trip

Have a great week

Disneyland LA style

Hey Everyone,

Hope everyone's having a great week

Well Los Angeles has been a warm one (nothing could top Vegas for heat) but the sun is lovely.

Yesterday was an incredible day at Disneyland, I've waited a long time to make it across the pond to visit this park. We most definitely made the most of it time wise being in the park as it opened and making our exit just before closing time last night.
Well what can I say, there is an air of magic every time you enter any Disney park. Paris has always been great to visit but knowing the history for this park and my love for Disney it meant a lot to finally walk around and see more of the Magic.

My first thought is how much smaller the Disney Castle was but it still looked incredible behind the statue of Walt and Mickey.
We headed to the back of the park where a lot of the rides had a few minutes wait. 5 minutes for Its a Small World is something I've not seen and even now I've still got the song in my head.
We ventured further into the park where we saw Goofy and then Mickey have produced a lovely set of photos.
It was incredible seeing some of the rides I've heard so much about. I have to say the Pirates of the Carribbean ride here was incredible and yes we did all look out for a certain pirate running around.

I have to give a special mention to the whole team working in the Pandora shop in the park. Amazing customer service and very friendly all round.

Venturing further we started using our fast pass options on our tickets which I think is a great idea to save waiting for queues when you can come back in a time slot later on.
Splash mountain was brilliant and so was the Haunted house we literally just walked on to that so time was in our favour.
After a quick stop for food it was time to look at the shops. Had there not been a plane flight involved to get it home I would have happily bought some of the home and ware items to take back. The Beauty and the Beast selection is lovely.
When we'd arrived earlier in the day I'd asked a cast member about photo opportunities with Mickey and Minnie. For those of you who read my Paris blog from last year will know how disappointed I was to have missed out on the picture with the two of them as it's always been a photo goal for me.

By chance as we turned a corner at the bottom of Main Street yesterday I saw the two of them with a short queue and managed to finally to fulfill a Disney goal.
Can't wait to get these pictures printed when I get home.

Towards the end of the day we were lucky to catch the Disney electrical parade which looked amazing round the castle which I highly recommend. The fireworks followed soon after which ended an amazing day for us.

I have full intentions of making it back here one day to explore more as there's so much more I'd love to see.

I can't fault anything for the day all the staff were amazing no matter where they were in the park. I loved seeing the free roaming characters too i think Belle and the beast were our favourite spot yesterday.
I totally recommend if you love character pictures like me getting the photo pass for getting digital copies of your pictures. I couldn't make up my mind which ones I wanted so this easily sorted it out.
Had to slip the ultimate selfie at the end

Hope you've enjoyed the blog

LA Adventures

Hey Everyone,

Hope everyone is good and a massive welcome to part 2 of my trip from sunny Los Angeles

After a short flight from Vegas yesterday my first observation was how much cooler it was even though it's still a nice hot n sunny temp 30 degrees is much more bareable than 45.
We watched the 4th of July fireworks last night from the back of the hotel. It was a great view, it backs on to a theme park n not only were all the rides running it looked lovely with all the fireworks going off all around us.
We went exploring today and found an amazing outlet shopping area, as you can see this sign in a converse store which was already discounted made it even more dangerous. Sadly out of everything I liked in the sale nothing was in my size but there are more places to try before we leave.

I ended up finding a great Marvel top which I'm happy to say is coming home with me for the collection.
We've had a great afternoon chilling by the pool today which was much nicer than our attempt in Vegas as it was just uncomfortably hot to sit out in for more than 45 mins or so.
Tomorrow though gets its own blog which I can't wait to write

My clue is I'm off to see a mouse about a castle

Check back for more when it's posted

Have a great rest of the day

Vegas Adventures

Hey Everyone,

Hope you've all had a great weekend

Mine has been busy to say the least - I'm getting ready now to move on to the next stop of my trip but thought I'd catch you up on some of what I've been up to over the past few days in Vegas.

My first observation
Vegas is very deceiving size wise the strip itself is a great place to explore but if you wonder into a hotel be prepared for a walk pretty much the length of Westfield to find your way out again.
We've explored a lot of the hotels whilst we've been here. We timed it perfectly last night to see the amazing fountain shows which I've seen so much of online and they were incredible to watch.
A highlight personally for me was getting to see the Backstreet Boys residency here in Vegas. The show was just amazing and a complete trip down memory lane. I can't tell you how amazing it's been to see the boys again live on stage.
We've just made it back from a long and incredible day at the Grand Canyon. This has been a big one to tick off my bucket list and I loved every part of it.
The thing that surprised me was it was actually a bit cooler than the mad temperatures we've had here in Vegas.
Tomorrow we move on for the next part of the trip so I'll check in a bit later in the week with some more of the trip

Have a great week
